Writing a CV
Common CV error - number sixteen.
Your CV, no matter how well written and targeted, will be in competition with other well written and targeted CVs and needs every opportunity to stand out against them.
Professionally written CVs conform to certain rules; presenting the very best attributes of the candidate in a short, punchy and achievement based sentences being one of them. They do not however, observe the normal rules of letter or report writing and present a limited opportunity to display real enthusiasm for a specific role.
A successful cover letter will allow you to neatly sum up just why the recruiter has to see you as this will be written in an enthusiastic style, expressing what you are sure that you will bring to the role and importantly, will point the reader to the key areas of your CV.
A recruiter has an almost overwhelming choice of candidates. Think about how you will make the decision process easier for this person by carefully steering them towards the key data that they are seeking.
